Cashier Reviews
What is it like working as a Cashier?
August 2016
Not Fred Meyer anymore.
Cashier:
Pros: I love my customers and most of my fellow associates. There are always new people to meet and get to know.
Cons: Fred Meyer use to be a fun place to work until Kroger took over. This job is now very stressful because of Q-vision, which is a joke. You can not sustain 1+1 if you don't have enough registers and the ones we have are falling apart. You're also lucky to get your breaks or lunch on time unless the numbers are down.
We have only received one $0.20 pay increase in 5 years.

Crappy.
Cashier:
Pros: My regular customers are amazing and I have developed close relationships with them, as well as having created a family with my coworkers.
Cons: The majority of customers are from the hamptons or New York City and are complete tool bags. The show no respect or care or consideration and complain when I don't smile. The act entitled to every sale and every promotion(which no one is)

Cashier:
Pros: With me being new to the team, the customers are so patient and nice to me. By far the best experience has been the customers.
Cons: I am new to the team and received no training. I ask a question and get attitude like it is such a problem that I am asking for help to make sure that I understand and am doing something correctly. I've been working there for a week and a half and still have no clue what they are going to pay me.

Cashier:
Pros: Coworkers location boss flexible.
Cons: Pay, not working enough.

Not what you would expect at an amusement park.
Cashier:
Pros: I get free admission, free parking, 35%off retail and food items, I met a lot of new friends, I enjoy seeing happy people having a good time with their families.
Cons: I don't like going into work on my days off even though I want to take my daughter to six flags, most guests are rude and nasty, very low pay-not enough to support a family, hours are consistently cut, was promised full time but I only had 14 hours on my paycheck last week, not allowed to get most of the perks that a guest gets- no season passes; no food passes; not allowed to play games. A sixteen year old kid was making more than me even though he started the job after I did this is his first job were in the same department AND he doesn't have a single bill to pay or a child to feed and clothe.

How stressful it is to work with the public.
Cashier:
Do your job to the best of your ability.

Cashiering sucks.
Cashier:
Pros: Nothing. There is literally nothing good about cashiering.
Cons: People are rude, you are overworked and underpaid, and nobody has common sense.
