We are normally pretty good at the technical stuff, so improving interpersonal skills, studying conflict management and how to handle confrontation all will be very useful. Also try to simplify techical jargon to clarify things to laymen.

Diverse & different.
Senior Software Engineer in Al-Dawhah (Doha):
Pros: I get to meet people from very different backgrounds, cultures & nationalities from my own. It is a lesson in multi-cultural thinking and team spirit, as the country thrives on a mostly-foreign workforce to run their companies and businesses. Life is mostly easy, fast & good, with very low-nil crime rates, good roads & traffic management and easy availability of things from all over the world.
Cons: Rampant bureaucracy & old-world ways of doing things in a world filled with technological advances, although this is changing slowly but surely. There is a level of prejudice based on nationality at the workplace. Very difficult to achieve career growth unless one works in an MNC with employee-friendly policies. Also difficult to switch jobs once you sign a contract with a company (rules are changing now but its unclear to what extent they will be effective).
