Software Engineer:
Cornell's like a lot of Higher Ed - you get extra freedom, great technology, and the chance to work alongside really smart, thoughtful people. The pay isn't as good, but the benefits almost make up for it. You are never bored there, and politics are almost always navigable if you are a hard worker. The prestige factor of working at an Ivy League school is a plus. And the ice cream is the best - sometimes you even get it free!

Software Engineer:
Good culture, work-life balance, health benefits, etc. The work is often challenging and interesting, and many of the problems I've worked on here are downright cool. However, the pay sucks, and some would even call insultingly low. The company is glacial in correcting pay problems too, as they only give pay raises once per year, no matter the circumstances.

Good.
Software Engineer in Bangalore:
Pros: Weather is pleasent compared to other cities in India
Cons: Sometimes the traffic can be a huge hurdle
