Special Needs Assistant Reviews
What is it like working as a Special Needs Assistant?
July 2016
Work vs life.
special needs assistant:
Pros: The part of the job I like most is working with the 5 year old child who has special needs. He is very energetic and has a good heart. I think he is very good at being re-directed and think he has made significant accomplishments since I have been working with him.
Cons: The constant need for my time and attention. I do not believe I am getting compensated fairly and I feel like I am doing more than what I was hired to do. I knew the job would be tough but now it feels like I was hired to parent 3 kids (one of them has special needs) I was initially hired to help him at school and now I have essentially stepped up and parent from 3:00-10pm.
