What is it like working as a Graphic Designer?

Graphic Designer:
Pros: Great work environment, great benefits package, fun coworkers, relaxed dress code.
Cons: No creativity, no organization, poor project management, overworked and underpaid.

Sometimes good, sometimes soul-crushing.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: Boss is great, friendly atmosphere and for the most part friendly clients. Weekends off, casual dress.
Cons: Very little creative freedom. Knowing something looks horrible but having to continue with it anyways because what a client wants is more important than what looks good. Have to deal with some very ignorant and rude people as well, underpaid.

Wish there was more room to grow.

Learn the lingo and jargon for an in-house position.
Graphic Designer:
There was an incredible amount of technical and contextual lingo and jargon that I had to learn for my current in-house position. The art and design necessary to be the Graphic Designer was the same as anywhere else, but not knowing the lingo was a distraction. Looking back, I should have asked ahead of time for some sort of lexicon to help me transition a little easier. It's great now, feeling comfortable with the lingo and technical terms of this company.

Graphic Designer:
Pros: The experience and atmostphere.
Cons: The salary.
