Small Business.
General / Operations Manager:
Be prepared for a low level of organization and team awareness. Be prepare to work with those that are uneducated and are just looking for a job not a career. Be prepared to be marginalized. Be prepared to see money take the lead over safety and best practices. I could go on, but my blood pressure would suffer.

Canadian Working as General Manager in Mexico.
General / Operations Manager:
Pros: There are many challenges in managing operations of a Mexican industrial operation and even more so for a transplanted Canadian. The most rewarding aspect would be the immersion into a different culture.
Cons: There are several challenges in any industrial environment and here in Mexico there is always issues with outdated equipment, difficult to find skilled labor and spare replacement parts to maintain operations. However, the most negative of all is the geographical location of our operation within a border town that is consumed by violent crime and poverty.
