Cashier:

I've been a checker and bagger at HEB for about 3 months.
Cashier:
Pros: I love the people and the support from the coworkers. I was welcomed right after I got accepted to work there. I started off as a bagger (as does everyone who applies for checker/cashier) and got paid around $8.75. Two weeks later, I trained for three days (for about 12 hours) to be a checker, and started immediately the next day I came in to work. On your first few days, they have one of their best checkers bag for you, just for assistance and to speed the transactions.
Overall, the environment is fast paced (especially on Sundays), welcoming, and helpful. I am very satisfied that I got this job during college.
Cons: I don't really have any complaints about the company. You might get some customers who might be impatient a few times a week, but other than that, I'm pretty satisfied.
Just make sure you really follow the rules (written and unwritten). They are very organized which means that they can be strict about their policy. Just take your break in the right amount of time, and ask permission to leave your position. Other than that, you'll be fine.
